How it works, on one company

Numbers you can defend in the room

Every calculator, guide and kit here comes from the same working financial model. Take a startup with $450,000 in the bank: dividing cash by burn gives one answer, and following it month by month gives the one investors will check.

Worked exampleread it
Cash in the bank
$450,000
Revenue this month
$18,000 (+6%/mo)
Costs this month
$62,000 (+2%/mo)
Net burn
$44,000
Cash runs out
Month 11
Revenue passes costs
Month 34

Cash ÷ burn says ten months. The month-by-month view says 11, and that this company is default dead: it has to raise or cut by month 5.

A raise has four stages. Start with the one you're in

  1. 01Build the model

“I don't know what my numbers should say.”

  2. 02Plan the raise

“How much should we raise, and what will it cost us?”

  3. 03Pitch and close

“Investors will pick my numbers apart.”

  4. 04Run the company

“We raised. Now the board wants numbers every month.”

Questions people ask

Are the calculators and guides really free?

Yes. Every calculator, checklist, investor question, clause explainer and benchmark page is free, with no sign-up. Calculators run in your browser, so your numbers stay on your device.

What's in the kits?

Excel workbooks (a self-checking 3-statement financial model, cap table, unit economics and more) plus PDF books that explain how to use and present them. Every workbook comes as a filled-in SAMPLE and a BLANK. Lite is the core model; each kit adds to the one before it.

I'm not a finance person. Will I manage?

That's who it's for. You type into the yellow cells, and everything else calculates and checks itself. The free pages explain every term, and each kit has a Launch Plan for your first session.

My business isn't SaaS. Does this still work?

Yes. Pro and Premium include the model in seven editions: SaaS, marketplace, e-commerce, AI usage-based, fintech, services and hardware. The free benchmark pages cover all seven.

Is this financial or legal advice?

No. It's planning and educational material. Have an accountant review figures used in filings and a startup lawyer review investment documents before you sign anything.
